God's Wisdom

Romans 11:33-36    NIV

33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and[a] knowledge of God!
    How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!
34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been his counselor?”[
b]
35 “Who has ever given to God,
    that God should repay them?”[
c]
36 For from him and through him and for him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Why do so many people question, or doubt God? Why do so many not believe that He is real?

It is a mystery with no explanation, except that Satan has blinded their eyes.

When we take the time to look around us, we see the express wisdom, knowledge and majesty of God.

It isn’t necessary in this lesson to list all the wonders of the physical world. We see them and know them. Everyone understands the miracle of the birth of a child and the wonders of looking at the universe.

However, one thought always comes to my mind when I think of the power and majesty of God.

Let us take a look at our earthly home, which God provided for us.

GOD'S WISDOM IN CREATION

Earth

We humans are microscopic in comparison to the vast infinite universe. In fact, the earth is microscopic in comparison to the infinite universe.

We are like grains of sand in this infinite universe. We inhabit a very small round “ball” that is rotating on its axis, at the speed of approximately 1,000 miles per hour. Yes, 1,000 miles per hour.

As the earth rotates or turns on its axis at 1,000 miles per hour, it is also hurtling through space at the speed of 66,627 miles per hour. Yes, 66,627 miles per hour.

So, let this sink in please. We are rotating/turning at 1,000 mph, while hurtling through space at 66,627 mph.

Has it sunk in yet?

We know how fast it feels to go 70 mph or 100 mph and some even know how it feels to go 110-150 mph.

However, it is impossible for the human mind to imagine that we are on a rotating ball, rotating at approximately 1,000 miles per hour, while at the same time, hurtling through space at 66,627 miles per hour.

Yet this is what we are experiencing, every second of every day.

Talk about the universe’s greatest roller coaster ride.

You would think that we would simply “fall off”, or "fly off" out into space, wouldn’t you?

However, God in His wisdom, implemented the necessary physical laws, one being gravity, that allow us to experience life on earth and yet, not really know the extent of what we are experiencing.

God's majesty and wisdom are evident all around us.

So much so, that it leaves the unbeliever with no excuse for their unbelief.

Romans 1:20   NIV

20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been madeso that people are without excuse.

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and[a] knowledge of God!

THE WISDOM OF THE CROSS

Wisdom of the cross

We are thankful for the Cross and God's wisdom in providing a way for us to become His children.

Colossians 2:2-3   NIV

2 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

In God's wisdom, He made a way for His love to reconcile us to Him, while not compromising His holiness and righteousness. He provided the perfect substitute and through the blood of Jesus we have redemption...we have forgiveness of our sins.

God in all of His holiness, cannot tolerate sin, so he provided the perfect sacrifice. Through the blood of Jesus, we are cleansed of all unrighteousness and made righteous in His sight.

Ephesians 1:7-8     NIV

7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding.

In God's wisdom, He provided a way for us to be reconciled with Him, without compromise.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

The wisdom of God is apparent in the cross of Calvary.

His love

Meditate on this for a minute and then let us praise God and exclaim "Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and[a] knowledge of God!"

ALL THINGS COME FROM GOD

The Psalmist goes on to say that WE cannot know the mind of God.

Unfortunately, some tend to think they fully understand the mind of God and His ways, but it truly is beyond the ability of mankind to know. As we like to say, this is definitely above our pay grade.

There is absolutely no comparison between God's wisdom and mankind's wisdom and what wisdom we do have, comes from God.

The Psalmist then closes the Psalm saying that ALL things that have been created are FROM Him, THROUGH Him and FOR Him.

Everything we see now and to come...is from, through and for Him

Everything we know now and to come...is from, through and for Him

Everything that Scientists discover now and to come...is from, through and for Him

Every advancement in medicine now and to come...is from, through and for Him

ALL things come FROM Him, THROUGH HIM and are FOR Him, as He provides for us.

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and[a] knowledge of God!

To that, we all should exclaim “GLORY BE HIS NAME, FOREVER.”
