Bible

I have long proposed that Christians compile a "mini-Bible" with the verses and parables that mean the most to them.

Generally what one gets when composing this mini-bible is the condensed Word of God, with all the main Christian doctrines, yet in a much smaller size. We further believe that these verses should be memorized, as best as possible and carried on your person, to have ready for your own worship, comfort and strength, or when questions are asked by those who do not know Christ.

Lest we be accused of advocating a partial reading of the Bible, let me be clear that this is not what we are teaching. All of God’s word should be read, studied and meditated upon.

However, there will be verses that become our favorites; verses that penetrate our heart more than others and verses that we look to, when we need comfort, peace and strengthening. These we want quickly at hand.

In essence, this book, titled “The Bible-In A Nutshell” is my mini-Bible.

However, in this book I offer my thoughts on several of the verses chosen.

Naturally there are hundreds of beautiful verses and stories that could be included but were left out.

That is the beauty of a personalized “mini-Bible.” Each one will be different, yet each one will tell the story of God’s love, grace, mercy and strength.

Each one would help lead a lost person to a relationship with God, through Jesus Christ.

After reading through “The Bible-In A Nutshell” I encourage you to start working on your own mini-Bible. It can include more or less verses than mine.

It should express how you feel about your relationship with God.

I would think most everyone would include the 23rd Psalm in their copy.  It certainly is the foundation of mine and one of the longer interpretations in this book.

Enjoy, study and meditate on the beautiful verses of scripture.

Then as you read my views on the scriptures, feel free to disagree. The plan of salvation is so simple that we could say it is in black and white. Many other scriptural topics are not and therefore open for discussion and different thoughts.

As you read through this book, please remember that it is written by an imperfect person. A sinner, saved by grace. Someone who has been that “prodigal son” in his life and remembers so well that God ran toward him on that long dusty road, welcoming him back home.

This writing is not for personal glory or fame, but only for magnifying and glorifying God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

I hope you find the writing to be inspirational, as well as motivational.

Don’t delay. Don’t procrastinate. Start putting your mini-Bible together today.

You will be glad you did and hopefully some lost soul will be glad you did also.

Let’s begin our study of “The Bible-In A Nutshell.”
