Thank you for your blessings on me

Matthew 5:3-11    Amplified Bible

“Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].

“Blessed [forgiven, refreshed by God’s grace] are those who mourn [over their sins and repent], for they will be comforted [when the burden of sin is lifted].

“Blessed [inwardly peaceful, spiritually secure, worthy of respect] are the [a]gentle [the kind-hearted, the sweet-spirited, the self-controlled], for they will inherit the earth.

“Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.

“Blessed [content, sheltered by God’s promises] are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.

“Blessed [anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature] are the pure in heart [those with integrity, moral courage, and godly character], for they will see God.

“Blessed [spiritually calm with life-joy in God’s favor] are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they will [express His character and] be called the sons of God.

10 “Blessed [comforted by inner peace and God’s love] are those who are persecuted for [b]doing that which is morally right, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].

11 “Blessed [morally courageous and spiritually alive with life-joy in God’s goodness] are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil things against you because of [your association with] Me.

This is not a traditional lesson, but rather a personal assignment, for all who will accept it.

No, you don’t have to turn in a paper.

No, you don’t have to share your answers with anyone.

No, there won’t be a grade and no one else will see it.

It is a personal assignment for one day, that hopefully will become a habit.

THE ASSIGNMENT

God's blessings

After reading this, upon awakening the next day, and throughout the day, start noticing and thinking about all of the ways that God has blessed you in your life.

There is an old hymn titled “Count Your Blessings” that said, “count your blessings, name them one by one; count your many blessings, see what God has done.”

The blessings include spiritual, material, something you’ve been allowed to do, or times where God has definitely watched over and protected you.

Don’t just think about the blessings. Write them down and meditate upon each of them and how much they have meant to you.

Then, compare your blessings today, to the blessings of God at other times in your life.

DON'T FORGET TO PRAISE & THANK GOD

When we receive a Christmas gift or birthday gift, we don't fail to express our thanks to the giver.

What about our blessings from God? Doesn't He deserve more?

He wants and deserves our heartfelt praise and thanks.

As you spend your day thinking about how good God has been to you, lift His name in praise, thanksgiving, glory and honor throughout the day.

As you participate in this assignment and give thanks to God, I guarantee that you will receive another blessing.

Finally, and just as importantly, as you remember each of God’s blessings, don’t forget to be a blessing to someone else.

Thank God for your blessings and be a blessing to others

Ephesians 1:3    KJV

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
