Amos 4:12 KJV
12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.
I recently heard a panel of scientists on the radio, discussing the universe, what they know and what they cannot know.
They were astronomers, astrobiologists and professors of Physics and Astronomy. They study the climate and habitability of planets outside of the Solar System.
At the end of the discussion, one of them talked about their spirituality and the limitations of science. They discussed their belief in God as creator of all. They said that science understands a lot, but it has its limits. Finally, they said, and I’m paraphrasing, “Science goes so far and it can ONLY go so far.”
Science now believes that the universe that we know was created by a “big bang” and this “big bang” took a mere few seconds in their view.
However, science does NOT know what caused the “big bang.”
As believers, we know WHO caused the “big bang” and the resulting creation of our universe. And, we want all unbelievers to come to this knowledge also.
We Will Stand Before Our Creator
Sooner or later, we all will stand before God.
Physical death is a part of this life and then we are accountable to God.
If you are a believer and follower of Jesus, you have made preparation for this day.
If you believe that there is no God, or that God will not punish those who do not live according to His word and commandments, I hope you will read this short lesson slowly and with an open mind.
All that we ask, is that you at least read and thoughtfully consume the words of this lesson.
If you find it hard to believe in God as the creator of all things, because it is “too far out”, I simply ask you to consider the “far outness” of all that we know “just happening on it’s own.”
Are You Prepared To Meet God?
Please consider for a moment, the condition of your soul.
Are you prepared to meet God?
We know from living, that we all shall die. The bible says it this way; “It is appointed unto man once to die.”
Hebrews 9:27 KJV
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
We also know from God’s word that the wages of sin is death.
If we die without believing in and accepting Christ into our life as Lord and Savior, we not only die a physical death, but also a spiritual death, being separated from God for eternity.
However, if we are a child of God through Jesus Christ, we are blessed with the gift of God, which is eternal life through and only through our Lord.
Romans 6:23 KJV
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
This means communion with God, forever.
Whether you have never been able to quite accept God as the creator of all things, or you have rejected Him and Christ for other reasons, we pray that you will at least give it some thought today.
Are you prepared to meet the one that created the mountains, the wind, and all that you see around you? Are you prepared to meet the One who set in place and in motion ALL of the physical laws that keep life possible on this earth?
Our physical body will someday die, but our soul will live on forever.
The question is, will it live forever in the presence of God? Or, be eternally separated from God?
Please give this great thought today and consider carefully the following question.
Are you prepared to meet thy God?
1 John 5:20 KJV
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
1 John 5:11 KJV
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
