What Do People See?--Part 2

Let others see Jesus in you

Matthew 5:13    NIV

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

Matthew 5:14-16    NIV

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

This is such an important lesson, that we want to continue it and reiterate key points.

Have you ever thought about how others see your life as a Christian? Your walk with Christ?

If not, it would be a very wise to consider it.

Do they see faith? Do they see love? Do they see kindness and goodness? Do they see consistency?  Do they see dedication? Do they see a life based on Godly principles? Do they see true commitment to the teachings of Jesus?

OR do they see something else?

If you are living each day as Jesus’ disciple, you will never know the number of people that you have had an impact on. Not in this life anyway.

One thing you can be sure of is, it will be many more than you think.

Treating people with kindness, patience, love and understanding never goes unnoticed.

Being respectful of others and treating them as you would want to be treated never goes unnoticed.

Acting and speaking as a child of God never goes unnoticed.

I’m sure you have heard the saying “you may be the only Bible that many people read.” It is true.

Think for a moment about what others are reading.

You are the Bible that many people read

Here is more truth. If you act and speak like a child of God, you don’t have to advertise that you are a Christian.

It will show.

Those you are interacting with will know it and you will have a positive impact on them.

Depending on their current circumstances, the impact you have may be greater than imagined. Some may accept Christ as their Savior because of your example.

Your example can be that powerful.

It should be that powerful.

Acts 4:13   KJV

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Acts 4:13    Amplified Bible

Threat and Release

13 Now when the men of the Sanhedrin (Jewish High Court) saw the confidence and boldness of Peter and John, and grasped the fact that they were [a]uneducated and untrained [ordinary] men, they were astounded, and began to recognize that they had been with Jesus.

Do others see Jesus in you?

WE SHOULD DISPLAY THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IN OUR DAILY LIVES

Galatians 5:22-23    NIV

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Words are good, but they are meaningless if our actions don't validate or agree with them.

We are to walk and live in the Spirit, exhibiting the nine components of the fruit of the Spirit at all times. When others see us and even when no one can see us.

Remember, God sees and knows all.

We are to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world at all times. We are to display the components of the fruit of the spirit at all times

Jesus tells us that salt with no saltiness, is good for nothing. He also tells us that a light, a true light cannot be hidden.

How you act, how you talk, how you respond to problems in your life, basically how you present yourself to your small circle of the world will have an impression on people.

Hopefully, it will have an impact on the lives of many, showing them the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.

Now back to the question that we all should ask ourselves.

What do others see?

Let others see Jesus in you
